Um dos destinos mais visitados em Goiás é a cidade de Pirenópolis. Fundada no século XVIII, no Ciclo do Ouro, a cidade abriga um conjunto arquitetônico estilo colonial, tombado como patrimônio histórico e artístico nacional.

One of the most visited destinations in Goias is the historic town of Pirenopolis. Founded in the 18th century, in the Brazilian gold rush, the city is an example of Portuguese colonial architecture, considered by the Brazilian authorities as an artistic national heritage and a preserved town.

Festividades em Pirenópolis

Festa do Divino

Festa religiosa em louvor ao Divino Espírito Santo tombada como Patrimônio Imaterial Brasileiro. Caracterizada por ser uma festa popular, festividade em que é a população que a promove em várias manifestações culturais. A começar com a figura do Imperador do Divino, o festeiro. São realizadas dentro dessa festa: Terços Cantados; Saída da Coroa; Fazeção de Verônicas; Folias dos Divino; Novenas; Alvoradas; Queima de Fogos; Pastorinhas; Cavalhadas; Congadas; Reinado de Nossa Senhora do Rosário; e Juizado de São Benedito. É a maior e mais tradicional festa de Pirenópolis, registrada desde 1819.

This is a religious celebration that honours the Divine Holy Spirit considered part of the Immaterial Brazilian Heritage. It is a popular feast, in which the people participates through diverse cultural activities. The celebration begins with teh Emperor of the Divine, or major of the party. Within the event there are Song groups, Passage of the Crown, Veronicas, Divinos, Novenas, Fires, Ridings, dancing, etc. Festa do Divino is celebrated since 1819 in Pirenopolis.

Cavalhadas

De um lado, 12 cavaleiros vestidos com roupas azuis reluzentes, os cristãos. Do outro, 12 cavaleiros vestidos de vermelho, os mouros. Entre eles, o campo de batalha onde são realizadas evoluções alusivas à guerra travada entre mouros e cristãos no sul da França no século VI d.C., quando o rei Carlos Magno impediu que os sarracenos invadissem o centro da Europa. Mas o cenário nada tem de europeu, apesar do nome Pirenópolis, na Serra dos Pirineus goianos.

As Cavalhadas de Pirenópolis se repetem anualmente há mais de 200 anos e figuram entre as festas folclóricas regionais de destaque no calendário turístico cultural brasileiro. Durante meses, bordadeiras se esmeram nos mais ricos desenhos numa paleta deslumbrante de cores, características das vestimentas dos cavaleiros, do embaixador e do rei . Mas enquanto os dois exércitos combatentes se encontram na arena, um outro grupo de cavaleiros, os mascarados, interfere e diverte a platéia. Os mascarados são grandes animadores da festa: mudam a voz ao falar, cobrem o corpo todo para não serem reconhecidos e enfeitam seus cavalos com fitas, tecidos, plantas e outros ornamentos. As máscaras usadas são de cabeça de boi, de onça, de homem e de tudo o mais que a fantasia mandar.

Between them, the battlefield where the evolutions allusive to the war between mourish and Christians which happened in the South of France in the 6th Century, when French king Charlemagne stopped the Arab invasion of central Europe. The scene, nonetheless, is not at all European, even though the name, Pirenopolis, is related to the Pyrenees.

The Cavalhadas have taken place annually in Pirenopolis for more than two centuries, and they are among the most important Regional Folk Feasts in the Brazilian cultural and turistic calendar. For months, women sew rich designs from a palette of exuberant colours, that goes later to the dresses of the horsemen, the ambassador and the King. While the two armies in fight meat at the sand, another group of horsemen, the masked, intervenes and amuses the public. The masked are great animators of the party, they change their voices when they speak, they cover their whole body to avoid being recognized, and they dress their horses with ribbons, clothes, plants and other ornaments. The masks they use are the bull’s head, the jaguar, the man and every other mandate of their fantasy.

Flipiri - Festa Literária

Festival de Literatura com palestras de autores consagrados, oficinas, bibliotecas, filmes e venda de livros e revistas, shows e atividades lúdicas infantis.

Literature Feast. It is a literary festival with lectures by writers, workshops, libraries, bookshops and magazine shops, shows and activities for children.

Festa do Morro

Festa religiosa em louvor à Santíssima Trindade que acontece anualmente durante a lua cheia do mês de julho no Morro dos Pireneus, a 20 km da cidade de Pirenópolis, no Parque dos Pireneus, ponto mais alto da região. Uma procisão de 20 km na noite da lua cheia, leva a imagem do Divino Pai Eterno à capela que existe no Pico dos Pireneus. No local, são realizadas novenas e um acampamento durante a semana que entecede a lua cheia. Também conhecida como Festa do Morro ou Festa da Lua.

This is an annual religious feast to honour the Holy Trinity, it hapens during the full moon of the month of July in the Morro dos Pireneus, 20 km away from the town, in the Parque Estadual dos Pireneus, highest point in the region and very close to Alma d´Agua. A procession of 20 km in the full moon night carries the image of the Divine from the town to a chapel in the Mountain.

Piribier - Festival de Cerveja

Festival de cervejas artesanais. Stands de fabricantes regionais, nacionais e internacionais para degustação e venda. Palestras e oficinas sobre degustação, gastronomia e fabricação de cerveja. Shows musicais.

Artisan beer production made by local producers, to drink , try or take back home. There are also conferences and workshops on beer production at home.

Canto da Primavera

Em setembro a cidade de Pirenópolis abriga o Festival da Primavera. Uma semana dedicada à música. Oficinas, concertos, palestra com os instrumentistas e compositores de renome nacional. Prêmios para as melhores apresentações e show de encerramento com grandes nomes da música popular brasileira.

In September, Pirenopolis hosts the Spring Festival. A whole week is dedicated to Music. Workshops, concerts, conferences with the well known musicians and composers. There are awards for the best presentations and the closing show with big names of Brazilian Popular Music ( MPB).
